Which college "for credit exams" are easier?

CLEP and Excelsior College (formerly Regents) both offer English Comp. Is there anyone who has experience with both CLEP and Excelsior exams and would care to let me know which type of exam seemed easier? The cost alone may make the difference to me ($72 vs. $335) but I would still like to know. Thanks in advance!
